Trip Information
Rafting in Bhote Koshi River is challenging with its (class IV to V) rapids. The white water river meanders along the deep channels and steep levees through the gorges of hills near Tibetan border. The river location provides the scenic views of greenery and human settlements amid hills in Sindhupalchok district.
Mount Fishtail Adventure has designed this two-day rafting that takes place in lower Bhote Koshi River on the first day and Upper Bhote Koshi River the following day.
On the first day, we punch the challenges of class III to IV rapids from a dam near Lamosanghu to Sukute as an orientation trip. The following day we take a thrilling trip in class IV to V rapids in Upper Bhote Koshi River. The white water trip from Aitabare, Baseri closer to the Tibetan border ends in Barhabise. Rafting in Bhote Koshi River can get the adrenaline flowing with its high discharge throughout the year. The river is suitable for the short trip.
Day 01:In the morning after breakfast, we head for Dam near Lamosanghu which is at the distance of 95 kilometres from Kathmandu.
Day 02:We wake up early and enjoy the morning beauty followed by the hot drinks and breakfast.
Day 1In the morning after breakfast, we head for Dam near Lamosanghu which is at the distance of 95 kilometres from Kathmandu. The three-hour drive along the Araniko Highway passes by fields and farms and cross notable town Dhulikhel. Langtang Mountain ranges can be viewed in its majestic position from here. We enjoy the view of hills and open clear sky as the four-wheeler hits the road. After arriving at the rafting spot in Dam, our river guides and assistant staffers make all the arrangements of the rafts and check supplementary gears, and ensure the safety before we punch the white water. We take in the four-hour rafting which will be more or less like orientation to prepare us for rafting in more challenging upper Bhotekoshi River. The first day rafting flows through a beautiful green vegetation and waterfalls. After the raft, we take rest in camps set up by the riverside. We take lunch here and enjoy the walk in the locality. Overnight stay in Sukute.
Day 2We wake up early and enjoy the morning beauty followed by the hot drinks and breakfast. On this day we raft in the more challenging upper Bhotekoshi River. We head for Baseri the beginning point where our guides instruct on safety measures again. The rafting on this day is the adrenaline flowing. We hardly get time to admire the beauty of the mountains as we get focused in white water. In four hours, we conclude the rafting at Barhabise and take lunch before we return to Kathmandu. Overnight in Kathmandu.
